Handmaids School Emblem

Farewell from Sr. Anthonia Uche

headmistress

Dear All,

As you already know, my days at Handmaids School, Aguda are at an end. My life’s boat now faces another port, and I must board it and travel on. It has been wonderful having you all with me while it berthed at Handmaids School. It has been a wonderful gift and privilege from God to have met you and letting our lives’ paths cross at this point. I would like to sincerely thank you for all the good times we’ve had over the last four years. My emotions are mixed and I would like to thank all of you who have supported, guided and encouraged me over the years and who worked with me. I shall sorely miss you all: the teaching and non-teaching staff, the pupils and the parents and those outside these categories with whom I came in contact. Your very presence enriched and energised me.

Every goodbye indicates the existence of an opening for a new beginning. While it is time to say goodbye to Sr. Anthonia Uche, it is also time to say welcome to Sr. Mary Okolo the new Head Teacher of the school. My greatest joy will be to see that you will cooperate and work even more readily and closely with her than you did with me. After all, the good of the children and their future depends on this unity of purpose and action.

Thanks also for the wonderful goodbye party and goodbye gifts. I will miss you all too, particularly the little ones. No need to cry now. Be grateful to God that we met. Be grateful that we will surely meet again in God’s own time. So smile even now both at the tender memories we shared as well as for the ones yet to come. I love you all and I am satisfied that God’s will is being accomplished in us and by us. And in this alone consists the sole purpose of our lives.

You can keep in touch with me and free to email me on tuulee247@gmail.com Again, my sincere thanks to all of you and every good wish for the future.

Sincerely,
Sr. Anthonia O. Uche, HHCJ.
